Bank Headquarters Office, Bucharest, Romania (Design)
The interior design for the new banking headquarters addresses the needs of two distinct yet complementary entities. The concept defines a unified spatial identity that allows for both separation and coherence within a flexible layout. The project integrates brand elements, organizational logic, and architectural clarity to create a functional, adaptable, and visually consistent work environment.
This project was developed by K2 Design Lab to support a high-performing workspace with a coherent and adaptable spatial identity. Key elements include a central reception area, open-plan work zones, and meeting rooms of various sizes. Through material choices, integrated lighting, and consistent brand identity elements, the design offers a flexible, efficient environment aligned with contemporary workplace standards. Sustainability was addressed by preserving parts of the existing partitions and upgrading the fully functional installations in line with updated regulations and performance standards.
- Concept Development and Layout Planning – Establishing the spatial concept and functional layout through detailed floor plans and 3D renderings, ensuring alignment with operational needs and brand identity.
- Technical Project Coordination – Developing detailed technical documentation, including architectural and MEP plans, to ensure proper integration of all building systems.
- Finishes and Furniture Selection– Defining all details related to finishes, materials, furniture, and lighting to align with design intent and sustainability objectives.
- Execution and Fit-Out – Managing on-site works across all disciplines, including demolition, installation of partitions, technical infrastructure, finishes, furniture, and fixtures, ensuring quality and adherence to the design.
- Commissioning and Handover -Testing all systems, final inspections, and delivering the fully operational workspace, ready for occupation and optimized for performance and flexibility.
- Flexibility and Adaptability – Open layout with unassigned desks and modular furniture allows easy reconfiguration and future workspace extension.
- Technology and Performance – Implementation of high-performance acoustic systems, energy-efficient lighting and integrated infrastructure.
- Sustainability – Preserved existing partitions, refurbished MEP systems, and used certified furniture and finishing materials.
- Brand Identity Integration – Brand colours and abstract coin-inspired geometry embedded in acoustic elements create a coherent design.
- Human-Oriented Design – Integration of greenery, natural light, calm materials, and fluid spatial flow supports comfort, focus, and overall well-being.
