For Goldbach Group, sustainability is more than a commitment – it is the foundation of its long-term business strategy. With eight specialized companies operating in retail development, construction, design, energy, and consultancy, the group is actively building economic, social, and environmental value across Romania.

Through K2 Retail Properties, the group is expanding its national network of community-based retail parks. With nine operational parks and 15 more in development, the network will reach 40,000 sqm by 2027, backed by an investment of €36 million. These projects have already created 90 jobs, with that number expected to increase to 340, and have contributed over €100,000 in local taxes – projected to rise to €650,000.

Goldbach Energy supports the country’s green transition, with two solar parks completed (12 MW installed capacity) and two more in development that will add both solar generation and energy storage. The group’s target: 100 MW of renewable capacity by 2027.

Goldbach Consulting has also played a strategic role in unlocking EU funds – securing over €14 million across more than 40 projects in the past five years. Its latest initiative, run with the University of Bucharest and Ascendis, is training 1,200 public officials in sustainable development practices across five regions of Romania.

“These future experts will be able to shape better policies, evaluate sustainable solutions, and support local transformation. Through them, we’re strengthening Romania’s capacity to lead meaningful change,” concludes Avădanei.
